maybe it's an ipad thing, but it would be handy if the demo and the instuctions scrolled seperately. Also, the comment editor widget thing does woeird things on the ipad...
: Demo John Elliot 2012-08-09 12:38
Sorry mate, I don't think this site is iPad/iPhone friendly. Not sure what to do about that wrt the demo frame. Not sure what to do about the HTML comments editor either. Suggestions?
: Demo John Elliot 2012-08-19 05:06
I looked up what to do about the HTML comment editor and the advice was to replace it with a plain textarea when loading a page for the iPad. So I'd need some code that detected an iPad on the server side and then need to generate slightly different HTML that didn't load the YUI HTML Editor. I'll put that on the TODO list.

This looks like what I have been looking for.  As a relatively new beginner in writing computer code I have been looking for alternative ways to educate myself in javascript, html, and css to help me with creating and working with web based natural resource management tools.  I have recently started creating and have posted a web page on the internet:

It is intended to be a work in progress and is basically now my primary work space to use trial and error to learn this "code stuff."  Today I am specifically looking for directions on how to assign a data type (currency) to one of my javascript based arithmetic outcomes.  I am currently writing all my code in Notepad ++ and uploading the html, css, and occasional jpg to my IPS via FileZilla.

Hi John,

Welcome to! If you're looking for help learning about JavaScript try heading over to ProgClub and registering there. ProgClub runs forums (mailing lists) where you can ask your JavaScript/HTML/CSS questions and we'd be happy to help you.

The focus at is the PHP API library and you could help out with that and learn a thing or two about software development and JavaScript by hacking on some unit tests for us.

Good luck with your journey into software development.

John Elliot.

OK. I'm done. I started at 11:33 and finished at 11:55, which is 22 minutes later. So the demo takes about 20 minutes to work through.
